Privacy Policy

Clearr is a macOS storage cleaning utility developed by Erkan Ardıç. It is designed to scan and clean supported files locally on your Mac without requiring an account.

We do not sell personal information, show advertisements, or track you across apps or websites.

Clearr uses the standard macOS folder selection panel to request access to locations needed for supported features. This can include your actual user Library folder and the Applications folder.

Access is granted only after you explicitly select the folder. Clearr stores a security-scoped bookmark locally so it can remember that permission across launches. The bookmark is not sent to us.

Clearr may inspect file and folder information such as names, paths, types, sizes, and modification details to identify supported cleanup categories. These can include Xcode data, package caches, browser and app caches, Mail downloads, project build folders, applications, and supported leftover files.

Scanning, size calculation, and cleanup actions are performed locally. We do not receive your file contents, folder listings, paths, scan results, or cleanup history.

Clearr may store app preferences, security-scoped folder bookmarks, permission state, and summary statistics such as total cleaned space inside its local app container.

This information is used only to remember your choices and display app history or totals. We cannot access it remotely, and it is not used for advertising or profiling.

Clearr does not need access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, photo library, or music library. Its Mac App Store access model is based on App Sandbox and the folders you choose.

Clearr does not include third-party advertising, analytics, tracking, or cloud file-processing services. Its core scanning and cleaning features do not require an internet connection.

Apple may process information related to App Store distribution, purchases, downloads, and diagnostics under Apple's own privacy terms. We do not receive your payment information from Apple.

If you email us, we receive the email address, message, and any attachments you voluntarily provide. We use this information only to answer your request, investigate the reported issue, maintain support records, and meet applicable legal obligations.

Please hide private file or folder names in screenshots before sending them whenever possible.

Clearr is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

We may update this policy when the app or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page with its revision date.
